Allama Iqbal University was established in June, 1974, with the major aim of educating those people who cannot leave their homes and jobs. The university is a distance learning institution in Pakistan.

Admission Procedure 2013 - 2014
The procedure of getting admission in Allama Iqbal University is very simple and easy. Modified semester system is the foundation of study. The educational year is divided into two semesters that is spring and autumn. Admissions are open twice in a year. Admission in general education and practical courses are open twice in a year. Admissions in Ph. D, M.Phil, M.Sc/MA, M. Ed. are announced once a year. Study duration for each semester usually lasts 18 weeks and additional two weeks are given for preparation of examination.
