The City University of Hong Kong was established in the year 1994. Formerly known as City Polytechnic of Hong Kong, it was granted full university status in 1994. Around 18,000 students were enrolled in the year 2011. The University proffers 130 academic programs in the fields of Business, Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, Creative Media, Energy and Environment, and Law.

Achievements, Reputation and Accreditation

QS World University Rankings ranked the City University of Hong Kong at 95th place globally. Among the Asian Universities it was ranked at 12th spot and it was designated 4th spot in the Hong Kong.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

The applicants having Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) can apply to the undergraduate programs though JUPAS (Joint University Programs Admissions System). However, minimum level 3 is required in Chinese and English Language, 2 in Mathematics and liberal Studies and level 3 in one elective subject. These are general entry requirements for undergraduate programs. For the postgraduate admissions an individual should have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute. International students whose medium of education was not English must have IELTS score of 550(paper based) or 79 in internet test and minimum grade E in GCSE.
