The Indian Institute of Technology was established in the year 1958. Having the reputation of being the second oldest IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), it has catered the masses with the educational wisdom and light.

Programs and Courses

The Indian institute of technology consists of the following departments. Aerospace Engineering, Biosciences and Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Energy Science and Engineering, Humanities & Social Science, Industrial Design Center, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science and Physics. The Institute also has research centers namely, Centre for Research in Nanotechnology and Science (CRNTS), Centre for Aerospace Systems Design and Engineering(CASDE), Computer Centre(CC), Centre for Distance Engineering Education Program (CDEEP), Centre for Environmental Science and Engineering(CESE), Centre of Studies in Resources Engineering(CSRE), Centre for Technology Alternatives for Rural Areas(CTARA), Centre for Formal Design and Verification of Software(CFDVS) and Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility(SAIF).

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology (Mumbai) offers degrees in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral course. In order to get admission in the undergraduate program, an individual must clear the institute’s test which would be Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) or GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering). For the admission in the postgraduate programs, the individual would need to go through similar test. Minimum GMAT score = 650 Minimum GRE score = 320 Minimum SAT score = 2000 is required for foreign students to get admission.
