Established in 1971, in the city of Comibatore which is in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The university is an agricultural university. The slogan of the university is “transforming the lives of farmers” and that’s why it provides quality education in the field of agriculture. The university has eleven constituent and four affiliated colleges to it. Moreover, the university also excels in the research fields regarding agricultural sector.

Directorate of Natural Resources Management (NRM) includes departments of Agricultural Microbiology, Environmental Science, Nanoscience and Technology, Remote Sensing and GIS, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry.

Directorate of Crop Management (DCM)

Directorate of Crop Management (DCM) includes departments of Agroclimate Research Center, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry, Farm Management, and Crop Physiology.

Centre of Plant Protection Studies (CPPS)

Centre of Plant Protection Studies (CPPS) includes departments of Agricultural Entomology, Nematology, Plant Pathology, and Sericulture.

Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development Studies (CARDS)

Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development Studies (CARDS) includes departments of Agricultural Economics, Agriculture and Rural Management and Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.

Directorate of Extension Education

Directorate of Extension Education includes departments of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK).

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

The requirement for the admission in the undergraduate programs, one must have intermediate education successfully cleared.For the admissions in the postgraduate programs, an individual is required to have bachelor’s degree. Students are required to get 50 marks in qualifying exams in order to get admission in numerous programs offered by university.
