The Indian Institute of Technology (Guwahti) came into being in 1994 in the city of Guwahti which is in the Indian state of Assam. Sprawling over an area of 700acres, the Indian Institute of Technology has been recognized by Indian Government as ‘Institute of National Importance’.

The Indian Institute of Technology (Guwahti) offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in the following department. Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engg., Design, Electronics & Electrical Engg., Humanities & Social Sc., Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Humanities and Social Sciences. Moreover the University has 6 research centers namely Centre for Educational Technology, Centre for Nanotechnology, Centre for Mass Media Communication, Central Instruments Facility, Centre for Energy and Centre for the Environment.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

Any individual must successfully clear the intermediate level before applying for the admission in any of the undergraduate programs. Moreover, the applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree when applying for admission in the post graduate programs. Minimum GMAT score = 650 Minimum GRE score = 320 Minimum SAT score = 2000 is required for foreign students to get admission.
