Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University was established in the year 1960. The university is situated in the city of Bhagalpur which is in the Indian state of Bihar. The university is named after Tilka Manjhi, who was a freedom fighter. The university believes in ‘education is power’ that is why; it has always aimed to disseminate the light of knowledge, wisdom and education in the society. The university has 24 colleges affiliated to it and Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University is also accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Faculty of Social Sciences: Economics, Political Science, Geography, History, Psychology, Industrial Relations & Personnel Management, Sociology, Rural Eco. & Co-operation, Home Science, Gandhian Thought, Ambedkar Thought, Ancient Indian History, Anthropology, Library & Inf. Science. Faculty of Humanities: English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Bengali, Maithili, Philosophy, Music, Persian, Angika. Faculty of Commerce: Faculty of Management Studies, Faculty of Law. Centers include Agro-Economic Research Center, Center of Bioinformatics, University Computer Center, Centre for Regional Studies, Research Service Center.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

Since most of the departments of the university prefer postgraduate and doctoral courses, so it is necessary for an individual to have bachelor’s degree in order to be eligible for admissions. However, for undergraduate programs, an applicant should have passed the intermediate education successfully. Applicants are required to have bachelor degree from recognized university. University will reward admission through Entrance test and G.D.
