Indira Kala Sangeet University

Indira Kala Sangeet University came into being in the year 1956. Indira Kala Sangeet University is the oldest institution in the state of Chattisgarh. The University mainly focuses on the Art and Culture and that’s why it aims to provide courses in all branches of Music and Fine Arts. There are 25 affiliated colleges.

Programs and Courses

The Indira Kala Sangeet University offers undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate/diploma and doctoral programs. Following are the main faculties along with their respective departments. Faculty of Music includes Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Percussion Instrument, Karnatic Music, and Physics of Sound. Faculty of Dance includes Kathak, Bharatnatyam, and Odyssey. Visual Arts includes Painting, Graphics, and Sculpture. Faculty of Arts includes English, Hindi, Sanskrit, and History of Indian Arts & Culture, Life Long Learning, Theatre, and Yoga. Faculty of Folk Music and Art includes Folk Music and Dance. There is also a Computer Centre.

Admission Procedure 2024 - 2025

All the candidates are required to submit the admission forms. Moreover, candidates wishing to apply in the undergraduate programs must have intermediate education and a bachelor’s degree is necessary for the admission in the postgraduate programs. For the doctoral and certificate/diploma courses, criteria differ. The foreign students are required to provide AIDS clearance certificate and student visa. For foreign students the criteria for admission is following GMAT = 550 GRE = 280 SAT = 1600
