Entry Criteria
MBA - Part I
Entry to Part I of the Waikato MBA programme requires a mix of tertiary education qualifications and relevant work experience.To be eligible to enter Part I of the programme, applicants need a tertiary or relevant professional qualification as well as at least five years of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience generally includes people, project, or functional management experience.
As part of the application process, participants are required to provide their employment history. Three written referees (employer and character) recommendations are required to accompany the application. There may also be requirement to sit mathematics and written English tests.
In some cases, tertiary qualification requirements may be waived when practical experience is deemed to offset a lack of prior tertiary study.
If English is not a participant's first language they will have to demonstrate English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent with no band less than 6.0).
MBA - Part II
To be eligible for entry into Part II of the Waikato MBA programme, participants are required to have successfully completed Part I of the MBA Programme with a minimum of a B+ average or have completed a BMS(Hons)* with second class honours (first division) or equivalent.In addition to these academic requirements Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies graduates must have a minimum of five years relevant work experience (people, project, project, or functional management experience) and successfully demonstrate their capability in an interview with the MBA Director.
BMS(Hons) graduates must have a minimum of five years relevant work experience (people, project or functional management experience) and successfully demonstrate their capability in an interview with the MBA Director.
